Jet Plasma Therapy
JET LASMA THERAPY is a revolutionary new treatment with no downtime, visible trauma to the skin, no pain, and no need for preparation procedures such as skin numbing.

Ageing is inevitable, and with age comes deep and shallow wrinkles, acne scarring from your youth, pigmentation spots, small veins, stretch marks and sometimes even unwanted skin tags or warts.
Luckily, we live in a day and age where technology provides amazing benefits to us, especially in the world of medical aesthetics. JET LASMA THERAPY is a revolutionary new treatment with no downtime, visible trauma to the skin, no pain, and no need for preparation procedures such as skin numbing. It diminishes wrinkles and fine lines, decreases hyperpigmentation, and improves acne and scarring without any brown carbon dots that traditional Plasma Fibroblast Skin Tightening leaves behind!
How does Jet Plasma Therapy work?
Plasma is generated when the atmospheric gas between the plasma pen tip and the skin is ionised, creating a small electrical arc, similar to a tiny lightning bolt, which is used to treat the problem areas without unwanted damage to the surrounding tissues.
During the Jet Plasma procedure, you may feel some heat from the device energy – but it is very minimal. This energy causes lax skin to contract, producing collagen, elastin, and a general rejuvenating effect.
The constriction of the skin can be seen with the naked eye right away as the cell membranes tighten because of a series of physiological events. JET Plasma treatments do not include cutting, injecting, numbing, burning, or removing skin or tissue.
Can be used on most body parts
One treatment generally consists of the entire face, but Jet Plasma can also be used on most body parts. Most JET Plasma treatments last for 20-30 minutes. We utilise the most advanced plasma technology for this treatment.
Jett Plasma Therapy: An Advanced Solution for Skin Lesions
This page provides information on Jett Plasma Therapy, a modern, minimally invasive treatment for various skin conditions. As with any medical procedure, it is essential to consult with a qualified dermatologist or medical professional to determine if this treatment is right for you.
What is Jett Plasma Therapy?
Jett Plasma Therapy is a state-of-the-art, non-laser medical procedure that uses targeted beams of radiofrequency (RF) energy to create a plasma flash. This technology allows for incredibly precise and controlled treatment of skin lesions with minimal damage to the surrounding healthy tissue.
How does it work?
A handpiece delivers a high-frequency electrical current to the skin’s surface. This current ionizes the gases in the air between the device’s tip and the skin, creating a small, controlled arc of plasma. This plasma energy instantly and efficiently ablates (removes) or coagulates the targeted tissue.
What can it treat?
Jett Plasma is versatile and is commonly used for:
- Skin Resurfacing: Improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars.
- Benign Skin Lesions: Removal of skin tags, seborrheic keratoses, milia, and syringomas.
- Wart and Verruca Removal.
- Xanthelasma: Removal of cholesterol deposits on the eyelids.
- Electrosurgical Incisions: For precise cutting in minor procedures.
What to Expect During the Procedure
A Jett Plasma treatment is typically straightforward and performed in your doctor’s office.
- Consultation: First, your doctor will assess your skin and medical history to ensure you are a suitable candidate.
- Preparation: The treatment area will be cleansed. A topical numbing cream is often applied 20-30 minutes beforehand to maximize your comfort. For very small lesions, anesthesia may not be necessary.
- The Treatment: You will be asked to wear protective eyewear. The doctor will use the Jett Plasma handpiece to deliver quick, precise pulses of energy to the targeted areas. You may hear a faint buzzing or popping sound and might notice a slight odor, which is normal.
- Sensation: Most patients describe the sensation as a series of quick, hot pinpricks. The use of numbing cream makes the procedure very tolerable for the majority of people.
- Duration: The length of the procedure depends on the size and number of lesions being treated, but it can often be completed in just a few minutes.
Are There Risks Involved?
Jett Plasma Therapy is considered very safe when performed by a trained medical professional. However, as with any medical procedure, there are potential risks and side effects.
Common Temporary Side Effects:
- Redness and Swelling: This is normal and typically subsides within a few hours to a couple of days.
- Micro-scabs or Carbon Crusting: Tiny, dark scabs will form where the plasma energy was applied. This is a crucial part of the healing process and must not be picked at.
- Mild Discomfort: Similar to a sunburn, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain relief if needed.
Less Common Risks:
- Changes in Skin Pigmentation: There is a small risk of temporary hyperpigmentation (darkening) or hypopigmentation (lightening) of the skin, especially in darker skin tones.
- Infection: As with any break in the skin, there is a minimal risk of infection if aftercare instructions are not followed.
- Scarring: While the risk is low due to the precision of the device, scarring is a potential complication, particularly if the scabs are picked or the area becomes infected.
Your doctor will discuss all potential risks with you during your consultation.
Aftercare and Recovery
Proper aftercare is essential for optimal healing and results.
- Keep the Area Clean: Gently cleanse the area with a mild, non-abrasive cleanser and water as advised by your doctor.
- Apply Ointment: Your doctor will recommend a healing ointment (like petroleum jelly or a prescribed antibiotic ointment) to keep the area moist and protected. Apply as directed.
- Do Not Pick! It is critical to allow the micro-scabs to fall off naturally, which usually happens within 5 to 14 days. Picking can lead to scarring and infection.
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect the treated area from the sun. Once healed, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with high SPF daily, as new skin is more susceptible to sun damage and pigmentation changes.
- Avoid Makeup: Do not apply makeup to the treated area until the scabs have completely fallen off and the skin has healed.
- Skip the Gym: Avoid activities that cause excessive sweating for at least 24-48 hours post-treatment.
- Healing Time: Superficial lesions heal quickly. Deeper resurfacing treatments may have a longer recovery period with redness lasting for a week or more. Your doctor will give you a specific timeline based on your treatment.
Follow-up:
Attend any scheduled follow-up appointments so your doctor can monitor your healing progress.
